Globe Valves
An industrial globe valve is a type of control valve commonly used in various industries to regulate the flow of fluids or gases. It is named “globe” due to the shape of its body, which resembles a globe or a cylinder. These valves are essential components in pipelines and systems where precise control of flow rates and pressure is required.
The design of a globe valve consists of a movable disk (also called a plug or disc) and a stationary ring seat. The disk can be raised or lowered by a handwheel or actuator, allowing the flow passage to open or close partially or completely. This movement creates a variable flow area, allowing operators to regulate the rate of fluid or gas passing through the valve.
Globe valves offer excellent throttling capabilities, making them suitable for applications where precise flow control is essential. They are commonly used in processes that require frequent adjustments, such as in the oil and gas industry, power generation plants, chemical processing plants, water treatment facilities, and more.
